Sensus Relies on TimelyText to Consistently Deliver “Top-Notch” Talent

With 27 years’ experience, Ron Gaydos is an expert technical writer and editor.  He expects high performance from his team and has equally high expectations of his suppliers.

For three years, Gaydos was the only technical writer for Sensus ─ a global leader in utility infrastructure systems and resource conservation headquartered in Raleigh, NC.  He was thrilled the day he was promoted to manager, received authority to staff a department and was introduced to TimelyText owner Ronnie Duncan and his, “right hand man,” Adrian West. 

Gaydos, who works in Pittsburgh, PA, thought his request to find the “best” technical writers would be a challenge.  “Technical writers are a rare breed,” he says with laughter.  “We are a unique combination of engineer, nerd, and frustrated novelist, and we are passionate about information technology.”

But TimelyText delivered on their promise ─ to provide organizations with the best technical or marketing writers, editors, instructional designers and project managers.

“The quality of the people they send me is top-notch,” says Gaydos, who has worked exclusively with TimelyText for almost two years.  “Whether my request is for senior or junior level help, they listen to my specific needs and send the cream of the crop … people who get up to speed quickly (in an environment that combines firmware, hardware and software solutions) and begin producing quality deliverables within a week.  That’s not an easy task and I can’t say the same of other staffing companies with whom I’ve worked.”

Today, Gaydos’ team includes four staff technical writers and one contractor.  Three of the four staffers are based in Raleigh and two were converted to staff after being originally placed by TimelyText.  Until recently, Gaydos also worked as Sensus’ manager of training development, during which time TimelyText provided three “top-notch” instructional designers.
