What skill sets will I find with TimelyText? |
Fundamentally, we are corporate communication professionals who come from many different backgrounds and industries. Some of the types of work we handle include:
- Technical writing for software and hardware (user guides, online help, reference material, process and procedure documents, etc.)
- Instructional design for development of training programs (storyboarding and architecture for either instructor led or e-learning)
- Training development and authoring of training materials (job aids, training scripts, PowerPoint presentations, etc.)
- Editing, formatting, or proofreading of existing material in need of polish
- Marketing communications (web content, case studies, white papers, public relations releases, etc.)
- Quality documentation (validation, SOPs, Sarbanes Oxley, ISO9000, best practices, etc.)
- Project Management for communication-based projects (enterprise software and/or training rollouts, large scale documentation update projects, e-commerce data collection, analysis, and distribution projects, intranet/internet content planning and development, etc.)

What is the average experience level of members of the TimelyText™ network? |
Because TimelyText is primarily a contract-based flexible resource, our employees and other members of our network typically have more than 10 years of experience; many, more than 20. However, it is not uncommon for our clients to seek less experienced personnel from our team, especially in cases where they need to add a team member to support an existing team. |
How do you determine your fees? |
Like any service-based company, TimelyText’s rates are based on the experience levels of our personnel and the specific services rendered. We provide the best available talent at competitive rates, which very often saves our clients money by delivering the necessary services correctly and efficiently…on the first attempt. |
How quickly can you place talent in my organization? |
Normally, we can provide the right talent within just a few business days. Of course, if the person we are pursuing is already employed elsewhere, they may need to give two weeks notice. However, sometimes TimelyText can place the right talent as quickly as the next business day. |
What if I am not happy with the person you send me? |
TimelyText is very careful to match suitable talents (and even personalities) with assignments. We monitor weekly Contract Reports from each of the people we have on assignment and we are in regular contact, both with them, and with you, to ensure that issues are solved before they turn into problems. However, if an occasion should arise when you are not completely satisfied, we will quickly replace the person with another resource that is better aligned with your needs. |
What if I want to offer a TimelyText network member a permanent assignment? |
TimelyText does offer straight staffing solutions, whereby our clients sometimes opt for a direct hire of one or more of our people. In such cases, we collect a percentage of the first year wages as our placement fee. For temp-to-hire situations, we offer a policy that allows clients to hire our employees after 1,000 hours (about six months) of contract-based service without paying a fee. For situations that require a quicker transition, pro-rated fees apply. |
What if I only need someone to fill a very short-term need, a month or less? |
By definition, TimelyText is a flexible resource. Whether your need is two weeks, two months, or two years, we give you our best effort. Regardless of project length, in order to ensure the best possible chance for success on any new project, our first step is always to schedule a meeting (at least by telephone) to clearly understand parameters and expectations for the work that will be performed. |
What if the person you place with me suddenly leaves without warning? |
TimelyText personnel are professionals and it is rare for one of our people to leave an assignment without warning, but unforeseen circumstances do occasionally occur. In the event of an unavoidable need for a sudden departure from your project, TimelyText will work diligently to smoothly transition a new resource into the assignment as soon as possible, usually within three business days. |
What if I need someone for a long-term contract – a year or more – but do not plan to fill the role permanently? |
This scenario is more common than most people might think. Especially in a down economy, like what we have experienced over the past few years, corporate department heads and managers often are not allocated the staff headcount they need to maintain their work load. However, with a sustained workload, it is fairly common for those managers to justify extra funding for contractors to meet “temporary demand,” which, in some cases, can last for years. In such cases, TimelyText can provide long-term contract resources and set the proper expectations that the assignment is unlikely to become a staff position. |
Do TimelyText network members seek permanent assignments? |
Yes, someTimelyText people seek long-term staff assignments with our customers. Part of our initial interview process involves asking questions about each new member’s preferences for both the work environment and length of assignments. Some of our people prefer the flexibility and variety of working for TimelyText and are not interested in staff positions with our customers. Several have been associated with the TimelyText executives for over 10 years.
When we meet with you to gain a clear understanding of your needs, we will be certain to gain an understanding of your longer-term vision for any role you wish to fill so that we can factor that into the decision about which of our people to recommend to you. |
